1701 Federal Street in the Point Breeze Neighborhood of South Philly.

WHAT’S THE PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION SITUATION?

We are a 7 minute walk from the Ellsworth-Federal stop on the Broad Street Line. We are also close by to the 17 and 64 Bus Routes.

WHAT IS THE PARKING SITUATION?

Parking at Black Hound Clay South is on street only, but some of the streets bordering the studio are unrestricted. We are hoping to add a loading zone in front of the studio pending PPA approval.

DO I NEED TO BE A MEMBER TO TAKE CLASSES?

Not at all! Membership is a separate program from our classes, which are open to everyone. Many experienced students eventually end up joining Black Hound as members.

WILL YOU HAVE ANY KIND OF RETAIL OR GALLERY SPACE AT THE STUDIO?

We are really excited that this location will include a small retail and gallery space, that will not only sell clay, tools and glazes to members and students but also the work of Black Hound Members, Faculty and Staff as well as many other goodies TBD!

ARE YOU ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR MEMBERSHIP?

We open our application for membership 4 times a year: January 1-15, April 1-15, July 1-15 and October 1-15. You can apply for membership here during those windows.

I SEE THAT BLACK HOUND MEMBERSHIP REQUIRES A DEPOSIT. IF I PAY THE DEPOSIT AND DECIDE TO NOT BECOME A MEMBER, CAN I GET THE DEPOSIT BACK?

Membership deposits are always refundable! Whether you change your mind after applying, or end your membership after several years, as long as all outstanding invoices are settled and your shelf iS clean when you leave, you’ll get your full deposit back.
